As founder of the Centre for Evidence Based Education Inc., Eric brings deep expertise in bridging the gap between research and practice. At the Centre for Evidence Based Education Inc (CEBE) our mission is to support the lifelong learning of massage therapists by providing the best evidence in patient care. About Eric Purves
Eric is a registered massage therapist, educator and researcher based in Victoria, BC, Canada. He has over 20 years of clinical experience working primarily with people in chronic pain. His research and educational focus is on the application of research evidence to inform best practices for the treatment and management of persistent pain and musculoskeletal concerns. Eric was a faculty member with PainBC from 2016-2022. He runs his own continuing education company, The Centre for Evidence Based Education Inc. He is fortunate to travel the world teaching courses on chronic pain and evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation strategies on regional and systemic conditions for massage, manual and movement therapists.
In 2019, Eric received his masters in rehabilitation science through the University of British Columbia. His graduate work focused on the role of massage therapists in the healthcare system, the barriers and facilitators to the use of research evidence in practice and how to use evidence-based strategies to enhance the utilization of research evidence in curriculum development and educational delivery.
